John McGivern Stars In 'Shear Madness' One Last Time

www.johnmcgivern.com

John McGivern is no stranger to Milwaukee audiences.

From solo shows like a Midsummer Night’s McGivern, to star turns in the Mystery of Irma Vep, to his wildly popular television showAround the Corner with John McGivern on Milwaukee Public Television, the man seems to have unlimited energy and audience appeal.

And now, fans of his take on the role of hairdresser Tony Whitcomb in the show Shear Madness can rejoice again. A brand new production of the show opens this week at the northern Lights Stage at the Potawatomi Casino.

Bruce Jordan is the co-creator of Shear Madness, and the original Tony Whitcomb. He and John speak with Lake Effect's Bonnie North about the play and how it has been so successful - 36 years after its first production.

"When you create something for yourself and then you find somebody who adds on to it with such brilliance and comic wonderment as John does, it's like seeing a child grow up," Jordan says.
