This weekend on Lake Effect:

We learn about an unlikely project to plant rice in southeastern Wisconsin. Then, as Bastille Days gets underway in Milwaukee, we find out why Wisconsin is more French than you might imagine. Plus we'll learn about the place of French food in our culinary landscape of beer and brats and present the latest edition of our storytelling series, Ex Fabula.

Guests:

  • Michael Schlappi, Marquette University; Susan Bence, WUWM environmental reporter
  • Anne Leplae and Mary Emory, Alliance Francaise de Milwaukee
  • Gene Webb, North Shore Boulangerie
  • Leah DeLaney, Ex Fabula co-founder; Rachel Owens, WUWM
