A court commissioner on Thursday bound over 21-year-old Darmequaye Cohill for trial.
Cohill is accused of first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety in the shooting death of 13-month-old Bill Thao in December.
Cohill was ordered to stand trial during a preliminary hearing.
According to the criminal complaint, Cohill and possibly others, mistakenly shot into a home on Milwaukee's north side, killing the boy who was playing with his toys in the living room.
The shooting apparently was revenge for a drug dispute.
