Monday on Lake Effect: 10th Anniversary, Gerrymandering, 'The Grind'

Monday on Lake Effect:

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the first Lake Effect episode. In honor of that anniversary, we revisit an interview with one of the program’s first guests: Tommy Chong. Then, writer Dave Daley looks at the modern history of gerrymandering around the US and here in Wisconsin. Later, the work of Milwaukee-based environmental artist Roy Staab is meant to decay. His large scale installations live in salt flats, marshes, lakes and rivers, and now in the formal gardens of The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum with his latest exhibit, Shadow Dance, Suspended in Time, and Beyond Baskets. Plus, author Barry Svrluga explains why the grind of Major League Baseball is like none other in sports.

Guests:

  • Tommy Chong, comedian and actor
  • Dave Daley, author, Ratf -- ed: The True Story Behind the Secret Plan to Steal America’s Democracy
  • Roy Staab, artist
  • Barry Svrluga, author, The Grind: Inside Baseball’s Endless Season
