Monday on Lake Effect: 'Edible Memory,' Open Housing Marches, 'Playing Through the Fence'

Monday on Lake Effect

Our summer long agriculture series, Full Plate, continues with an exploration of how food, culture and memory intertwine. Then, Margaret Rozga looks back a half-century to the Milwaukee open housing marches she participated in. And, 20 years of being a female person of color in the workforce created some challenges for Mary Dowell. She hopes others can learn from her experiences.

Guests:

  • Margaret Rozga, professor emeritus of English at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha and widow of James Groppi
  • Mary Dowell, principal of MJ Dowell & Associates and author, Playing Through the Fence: Stories from 19 Women Who Challenged Stereotypes, Prejudice and Other Barriers to Achieve Career Success
