Monday on Lake Effect: Resettling Refugees, 'Fabric of Survival,' MealSteals

Monday on Lake Effect:

People working to help refugees resettle in Wisconsin face uncertain times. Then, a daughter recounts her mother’s remarkable story - of fleeing her Poland village as a girl, surviving World War II, coming to America, and then creating fabric art that told the story. And two Milwaukeeans create an app designed to connect diners with restaurants offering specials.

Guests:

  • Mary Flynn, program director, Refugee & Immigrant Services at Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan
  • Bernice Steinhardt, co-founder, Art and Remembrance; Molly Dubin, curator, Jewish Museum Milwaukee
  • Ben Bourgeois and Brian Kopp, co-developers, MealSteals
