Glass artist Beth Lipman is known far and wide for her detailed, overlapping glass installations that appear to drop over the edges of tables and look as though they could fall over with a puff of wind. Her work is in permanent collections at the Smithsonian and the Milwaukee Art Museum, among other places.
But the exhibit currently on view at Jewish Museum Milwaukee gives you a chance to get up close and personal with the work of the Sheboygan-based artist, in a way you don’t normally get to.
"This may be one of the only places in the last couple of years that you have been able to actually walk around at least one of the installations completely, even though all of them - with the exception of the Whatnot - are made to be 3-dimensional," says Lipman.
The exhibit, called Once and Again: Still Lifes by Beth Lipman, opened last month and runs through early January.
