Risk! is a live show and podcast “where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public.” The show’s creator and host is Kevin Allison, a former member of the famous MTV sketch comedy troupe The State.
Since 2008, the podcast has steadily commanded a loyal audience, and now boasts over 2 million downloads per month.
Risk! made its Milwaukee debutlast year, and returns this Friday for another show at Colectivo’s Back Room on Prospect. The theme this year is “Eye Opening,” and will feature members from Ex Fabula, as heard on Milwaukee Public Radio each week.
In addition to hosting and producing Risk!, Kevin Allison is the founder of The Story Studio.
Ahead of his trip to Milwaukee, he spoke with WUWM's Rachel Owens about the philosophy of show, the impact its had on people's lives and benefit of living vicariously through others' experiences:
