The Suprising Ways Anthropology Impacts Our Lives

Jon Strelecki
Tom Luljak and guests

Periodically, we hear stories about construction projects in our area that are put on hold because of the discovery of an old grave site where a new building is going up. When that happens a team of scientists and students from UW-Milwaukee are often called to the scene to lead the recovery efforts of the human remains.

The work is done by UWM'sDepartment of Anthropology.

On this edition of UWM Today, learn more about anthropology and the surprising ways it can impact our own lives. Joining host Tom Luljak in the studio is Thomas Malaby, chair of UWM's anthropology department and John Richards, director of the UWM Cultural Resource Management program.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
