Talks Over Private School Choice Expansion Deadlocked

A state Senate leader says talks designed to strike a compromise on Gov. Scott Walker's  private school choice expansion plan have reached an impasse.Republican Senate President Mike Ellis says he does not think lawmakers can reach a compromise by today on the Governor's school choice expansion plan. The legislature's budget writing committee is scheduled to vote on the proposed legislation today. Walker's plan would expand vouchers to nine communities beyond Milwaukee and Racine.
