UWM Professor Talks US-Russia Relations

Jason Rieve
Tom Luljak and John Reuter

Ever since the news broke of Russia’s meddling in the US elections, Americans have been paying a lot more attention to the state of US-Russia relations. Stories of spying, the buildup of nuclear aresenals, trade tensions and crack downs on political opponents make it seem like not a day goes by without new questions being raised as to whether we are nearing a showdown between America and Russia.

What should we make of all of this?

On this edition of UWM Today, we’re going to talk to a political scientist at UWM who has spent much of his career studying Russia and the rise of authoritarian rule in that country. John Reuter is an assistant professor in UWM's Department of Political Science. He recently authored a new book on the politics in Russia since the fall of the Soviet empire.

Tom Luljak hosted UWM Today on WUWM for more than two decades and is the inaugural host of Curious Campus.
