Thursday on Lake Effect: Sherman Park Aftermath, Trinity Irish Dance, Hunger Task Force Farm

Thursday on Lake Effect:

Now is the summer of our discontent in Milwaukee. The unrest and violence that swept through Sherman Park seemed to shock the nation. But for many Milwaukeeans, it was a long time coming. We convene a panel to discuss the unrest for a special co-production with Milwaukee Public Television. Then, we’ll catch up with the founder of the internationally renowned Trinity Irish Dance Company, who says the seeds of their success were planted in Milwaukee. And we visit the Hunger Task Force Farm, and Valentine Coffee Roasters.

Guests:

  • James Causey, Black Nouveau and Journal Sentinel; Reggie Jackson, America’s Black Holocaust Museum; Laura Richard Marshall, Blue on Center; LaToya Dennis, WUWM reporter; Jarrett English, ACLU of Wisconsin
  • Mark Howard and Paul Marshall, Trinity Irish Dance Company
  • Cole Compton, Hunger Task Force volunteer; Susan Bence, WUWM environmental reporter
  • Valentine Coffee Roasters, audio postcard
